Scottish Premiership standings at the split

The first games after the split are approaching quickly. We will see each team in the league play against five other teams and battle it out for the highest possible place in the league.

The top half of the league at the split sees Celtic at the top of the table with an eleven point lead over Rangers, with Rangers leading Kilmarnock and Aberdeen by eight points. Hibernian and hearts are the last two teams in the top half of the split and they are positioned fifth and sixth with Hibs being on 52 points and Hearts on 50.

The league is pretty much set in stone at the top with Celtic going on to be the winners but it is not over until it is mathematically over. The competitive nature of the league means that anyone is still in with a shot (pun intended) at the Europa league spots, which will lead to a great match on the last weekend of the season when Rangers travel to Rugby Park.

At the bottom end of the league St Johnson lead the way in seventh place with Motherwell close on their tail and Livingston just behind them. The last three are Hamilton Academical with 25 points, St Mirren closely behind with 21 and Dundee at the bottom three points behind.

The battle to stay up is an exciting one with St Mirren vs Dundee to be a huge math on Sunday the 18th of May and could possible decide their fate.

Cannot wait to see the outcome of the games to come.
