Great start for Gerrard

“Gerrard the man for the future of Rangers”
Rangers feel and look like a totally different team under Steven Gerrard. Has his reign as Rangers boss been a successful one or has, he still to prove himself?

This will be the question that is hopefully answered throughout his Rangers career that can hopefully be only at the beginning. In order for Steven Gerrard’s, Rangers team to have any chance of competing for any trophies there must be changes made even though Gerrard has already brought in a staggering number of players and also let several players leave on loan or on a permeant basis.

His season has been a tremendous success from the offset as he was able to secure Rangers a spot in the group sage of the Europa League and has now just got the team to second place in the league. Gerrard has significantly improved the Rangers team as they are now closer that they have been in years to closing the gap behind Celtic and that is thanks to the way Gerrard has improved the team especially in defence. Bringing in players such as Conor Goldson, Jon Flannagan and Alan McGregor have made it that the Rangers defence as solid as a rock, with the team also scoring more goals this may be due to the way Gerrard man manages player such as Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos.

As Gerrard is in his early stages of management he has shown that he and Rangers are not the final project at the moment, Gerrard shows great potential for a bright future in management because there is not many people that can say in their first season they have taken a team to second place in the league and reached the Europa League group stage. At the moment the Rangers team have a goal difference of plus 53 and have surpassed there points total from last year which was 70 and they still got three games to play, this shows that Gerrard have been a success as they have more points and are scoring more goals and conceding less. There is also rumours that Gerrard could be using his pull at Liverpool to get players such as Ben Woodburn, Curtis Jones and obviously trying to resign Ryan Kent or sign him on a permeant basis.

Steven Gerrard’s success or failure at Rangers will be determined in the coming season and it will be exciting to see who Gerrard and Mark Allen decide to bring in, in the future and it will also be good to see who they decide to get rid of. It is safe to say that Steven Gerrard is going to be a success at Rangers but how long will the Glasgow club have to wait?
