Scotland National team

At the current moment, the Scotland national team which is managed by Alex McLeish is not performing to the standards that Scotland fans demand. The team at the moment just doesn’t have the ability to compete at a high level and has struggled against average opposition. The team has had injuries throughout the last few years but every team gets injuries. The worst thing about this Scotland team isn’t the quality of players, it is the lack of passion, experience or eye for goal needed to succeed. The side is made up of lots of young promising players who are performing successfully at top clubs all across the UK

Out of the players in the squad including the recent call up they have a total of 47 goals between them. That is an average of 1 goal per person which is worrying – particularly as European qualification often depends of goal difference.

As I look at this team, I do not see anyone that stands out, the person with the most goals is Steven Fletcher with 10 goals in 33 games. This isn’t great but is even worse when you realise he scored 6 of those 10 goals against Gibraltar in 2 matches. We have got some star players like Robertson and Tierney, but they are both the same position so are wasted.

This is the team that I would choose to play if I was the Scotland manager this is my opinion out of the available players including injured players.

The team has so much potential to be successful and hopefully Alex McLeish can lead the team to Euro 2020.
