These are the players that are going to carry Scottish football forward. Young players are the future for every aspect of football, and these are some of the young stars that can make Scottish football elite.

Lawrence Shankland- 23

Ayr United FC

Shankland has been on fire for the past two seasons wit his goals helping Ayr United clinch the Scottish League one and has been scoring just as many goals this season. The goal scorer has racked up an impressive 22 goals in 27 appearances in the league making him the championship top scorer. His impressive scoring record has caught the eye of several teams around including teams in the top division is Scotland. The way I see it any team would be better of having him in their team. He has scored in important games such as a game against Dundee United he scored four out of the five goals scored by Ayr. There have been several games where Shankland has been the only person to score and on many occasions, he has been the only goal scorer whilst scoring multiple goals.

Glenn Middleton- 19

Rangers FC

Glenn Middleton is an attacker that plays for Rangers. He is a quick player who is excellent at dribbling, he shows great potential as he made his Rangers debut at just 18 years old. Middleton has also showed that he can play at the highest level with his performances in Europe. He played in several occasions for Rangers in Europe as well as scoring in the match away at Spartak Moscow. Middleton can be utilised in many different positions; he can play on either wing or can be played down the middle as an attacking midfielder. This means he is a young versatile player that Rangers can hopefully keep for the years to come.

Lewis Ferguson- 19

Aberdeen FC

Lewis Ferguson is the son of Derek Ferguson and the Nephew of Barry Ferguson. Ferguson has been a mainstay in the Aberdeen midfield this season ad has shown he has the natural ability to play at the highest level. He has showed that he can create goals and score goal as he has got five goals and five assists in 26 games in the league. Ferguson has also shown that playing in front of a large crowd doesn’t fear him has he scored the winning goal to take Aberdeen through to the Scottish cup semi-final.

Kristoffer Ajer- 20

Celtic FC

As an integral part of Celtics defense. Ajer is one of the best defenders in the league. He is a very tough defender to play against as he is a staggering six foot five this makes him an intimidating presence. He can win the ball in the air due to his unparalleled height and strength. Ajer is one to look out for in the years to come and is a player Celtic will be wanting to keep.

Ross McCrorie- 21

Rangers FC

At six foot two, McCrorie Is a presence in the Rangers midfield. He has showed that at a young age he is able to play in high velocity games in front of a large crowd. Over the last year he has progressed significantly as he can now play matches at various position including areas of defence and midfield. McCrorie has excellent pace and is good a running with the ball at his feet and at only 21 he will be a player that is not only the future of the SPFL but will be the future of the Scotland national team.

Liam Kelly- 23

Livingston FC

Goalkeeper for Livingston. Liam Kelly is a young player who has been the first choice of Gary Holt for this season. He has an excellent record of conceding only 33 goals in the 32 games he has played in the league this season. That’s great from a player that is still only 23 years old. Livingston are joint third in the league for clean sheets with 13 with the only two teams being above them being St Johnston and Celtic. He has showed that even at his young age he can have a presence in the goal and is one of the best shot stoppers in the league.
